Cervical spondylosis is spontaneous wear and tear of the cartilage, discs, ligaments, and bones of the neck. The main symptoms are neck pain and stiffness. Physical therapy, ice, heat, massage, gentle color, and medicine are the first approaches to try. More serious cases, such as herniated discs, osteophytes, and nerve compression, can be treated with injections or surgery.
